The upper ridge pattern started to break down enabling an influx of deeper moisture (PWAT 2 inches) from the southwest into the afternoon. Isolated strong to severe storms developed where sea breezes and outflows merged near and east of the I-95 corridor, then storms moved offshore of the Atlantic coast.
