As a result, Red Flag Warnings were issued. Palmer verified on the 30th with temperatures in the low to mid 70s, RH values 25% or less even into the teens, and sustained winds of 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph for 3 consecutive hours. Anchorage verified on the 31st at Ted Stevens International Airport with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees, RH values of 25% or less, and sustained winds of 15 mph or more for 3 consecutive hours.

Another strong ridge of high pressure set up over Southcentral for May 30th and 31st resulting in another period of hot, dry, and windy conditions across Anchorage and the Matanuska Valley.
