Event narrative

The 28-day average streamflow from USGS river gauge network indicated some streamflows running below normal across eastern interior and southeast Puerto Rico. Although the drought is gradually improving, lingering effects are still causing water demands and stressed pastures, crops and native vegetation.

Wider weather episode

The rainfall deficit across southeast of Puerto Rico resulted in the continuation of drought conditions, with Severe Drought (D2) across the southeast.
