Event narrative

Scattered 60-65 mph thunderstorm winds were

observed in McColl, SC as a severe thunderstorm moved through

the area. The intensity of the wind increased to 80 mph near

Horseshoe Circle on the southeast side of McColl. There were

numerous trees and large limbs down in this area and about 5

homes suffered damage. A single wide mobile home was sliced in

half by a large pine tree while another home had its windows

blown in. The wind damage became less noticeable on the south

side of New Bridge Rd to the southeast of Horseshoe Circle.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms produced wind damage and hail.
