Three brief waterspouts were spotted about 7 miles east of South Padre Island. The distance was estimated based on radar. A member of the public shared the images on a Facebook group.

Wider weather episode

An outflow boundary originating from near Brownsville swept over the nearshore Gulf waters and helped enhance showers and storms over the Gulf waters about 7 miles offshore. This lead to waterspout sightings by members of the public on South Padre Island.
