The month started with Extreme(D3) drought conditions over the east and Moderate(D1) drought over the west. On July 12th, the entire zone was placed in Moderate(D1) drought. The Buckhorn Cooperative Observer reported 4.44 inches of rainfall which was 1.67 inches above normal.
Wider weather episode
Above normal rainfall for June and July was enough to take the entire zone into Moderate(D1) drought.
