Event narrative

Volusia County Ocean Rescue and local broadcast media relayed reports that a 66-year-old male from Ormond-by-the-Sea, FL drowned after being caught in a rip current at Ormond-by-the-Sea. The incident occurred around 1700LST across from the 2100 block of Ocean Shore Boulevard. The man was found floating in the surf near a boogie board. He was pronounced dead by paramedics after he was pulled from the ocean.
