Multiple trees were reported down near the intersection of Burlington Rd and Charlie Long Rd.

Wider weather episode

Morning thunderstorms over the Ohio Valley, as well as a surface trough over the western Piedmont, led to several boundaries where afternoon and evening thunderstorms formed across central North Carolina. The storms formed over the western Piedmont and over Virginia, tracking into the central and eastern Piedmont and Coastal Plain in the mid to late-evening hours. The storms reached the far eastern portions of North Carolina in the early overnight hours. Numerous trees and wind damage was reported as a result of these thunderstorms.
