Event narrative

Thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall north of Brian Head, with 3-hour Multi-Radar/Multi-Sensor rainfall estimates of around 1 to 2.5 inches. This resulted in debris flows over state Route 143 between mileposts 11 and 13, and closure of the road. Additional reports from the public and media reported debris was up to 7 feet deep in spots.

Wider weather episode

A push of monsoonal moisture resulted in sporadic flash flooding and isolated microbursts for the end of the month of July.
