Quarter size hail lasted about one minute at Story Lake.

Wider weather episode

There was a cluster of strong storms over southern Lake Michigan early morning that organized further as they tracked into northwest Indiana/southwest Michigan. The most intense line of storms peeled east-southeastward and hammered Elkhart/Kosciusko/Whitley counties with widespread wind damage. Additional storms also caused wind damage elsewhere across northern Indiana. Some severe hail was also reported.
