A spotter reported a peak wind gust of 59 mph two miles northeast of Gila.

Wider weather episode

Some drier low level air started moving into southern New Mexico, but modest mid level moisture remained across the area. Gusty winds and flash flooding were reported with the stronger storms that developed in Grant and Otero counties.
