Extreme drought persisted over the county with exceptional drought over the extreme northwest part of the county.

Wider weather episode

Above normal temperatures and well below normal rainfall occurred across south Texas during the month of July. Extreme drought spread across the coastal plains and over much of the Brush Country by the end of the month.
