Anaheim broke their daily high temperature record, reaching 106 degrees, breaking the previous record of 102 set in 2007. This also breaks the all-time monthly high temperature for the month of August, breaking the previous record of 105 degrees set on August 18, 2020.

Wider weather episode

A record-breaking and prolonged heat wave started at the end of August and persisted through the week of Labor Day. Numerous records were broken and multiple wildfires were started as the result of extreme temperatures and drought.
