Heavy rain of 2-3 in 90 minutes in Aravaipa Canyon caused a debris flow and flash flood along the creek through the wilderness area.
Wider weather episode
Scattered slow moving thunderstorms developed over southeast Arizona during the morning and afternoon. Heavy rain resulted in flash flooding in Pinal County, the Tucson Metro area and over the Contreras Fire burn scar.
