A Facebook photo from the Piney Fire Department indicated lightning struck an outbuilding on Old Highway 111 and the resulting fire destroyed it.

A large cluster of severe thunderstorms moved southeastward out of Kentucky across northeastern Middle Tennessee during the early morning hours of July 21. Numerous reports of wind damage were received.
