Event narrative

Flash flooding occurred on the lower portion of the Palisade Plunge trail in Mesa County as a result of heavy rain from thunderstorms.

Wider weather episode

A cold front progressed across western Colorado. The lift provided by the front, in addition to moderate instability and ample moisture, fueled some stronger showers and thunderstorms across the area. This led to minor street flooding and flash flooding across portions of Mesa County.
