Event narrative

Thunderstorms winds brought down down trees on Wilderness Road which subsequently downed power lines. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

High pressure was centered off the Mid-Atlantic coast, allowing an upper level disturbance to cross our region. This disturbance combined with daytime heating spawned the development of showers and storms. A couple of these storms grew to severe levels and produced damaging wind gusts. Lightning also caused damaged to two homes.
