Heavy Snow in Choctaw, Mississippi

Heavy snow fell across portions of the county. Accumulations of 3 inches were noted in French Camp, Ackerman and Fentress.

Snow fell across portions of the region overnight January 15th into the 16th. The bulk of the snow accumulated across central and eastern Mississippi, though there was a rather sharp cut-off between locations that saw accumulating snow and locations that saw nothing. A band of snow developed across east central Rankin and Madison counties, and produced the largest snow fall of around 8 to 9 inches. The low pressure system then progressed east during the morning hours of the 16th resulting in accumulating snowfall of 3 to 5 inches across portions of eastern Mississippi.
