Snow fell across the county during the evening of January 15 into early morning of January 16. Accumulations of around one half of an inch occurred around Winona.

Snow fell across portions of the region overnight January 15th into the 16th. The bulk of the snow accumulated across central and eastern Mississippi, though there was a rather sharp cut-off between locations that saw accumulating snow and locations that saw nothing. A band of snow developed across east central Rankin and Madison counties, and produced the largest snow fall of around 8 to 9 inches. The low pressure system then progressed east during the morning hours of the 16th resulting in accumulating snowfall of 3 to 5 inches across portions of eastern Mississippi.
