The wider storm

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms continued to impact NM as a persistent upper-level low pressure system drifted over the region. Just enough instability and shear below the larger scale rotation aloft allowed a storm near Belen to produce a brief funnel cloud over the west mesa.
