A peak gust of 59 mph was measured at the DISW3 Devils Island C-MAN station.

Wider weather episode

A warm front moved northward across western Lake Superior during the afternoon hours of the 2nd leading to the development of thunderstorms as it moved through. These storms were elevated in nature due to the warm front with large hail and heavy downpours being the primary threats. However, some of the stronger winds were able to mix down to the surface across the Apostle Islands with a measured gust to 59 mph being reported at Devils Island.
