Event narrative

WATERSPOUT. Location: 32.8338N, 81.1701W. The Savannah broadcast media relayed a video of a gustnado that moved across Lake Warren, becoming a waterspout with no discernible damage, but displaying a well defined funnel and raised spray. The waterspout developed along a gust front ahead of a line of thunderstorms.

Wider weather episode

Deep moisture drawn from the Gulf of Mexico along with large downdraft convective available potential energy ahead of a cold front approaching from the west led to a line of strong thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds across southeast South Carolina.
