Event narrative

A law enforcement officer reports that thunderstorm wind gusts damaged a car port. They also reported that very little to no rain occurred at the time of the wind gust which may have been a microburst. The time of the event was estimated using radar.

Wider weather episode

A weak surface low and its attendant cold front moved across the area on the morning of August 3rd. A line of storms developed ahead of the front and one of these storms produced damaging winds as it moved into Scotland County.
