A highway department weather sensor recorded a 60 mph gust about 9 miles east-northeast of Road Forks along Interstate 10.

Deep easterly flow brought in plenty of mid and high level moisture helping to fuel storms into the overnight hours. . An unusual severe overnight thunderstorm brought a 60 mph wind gust to areas west of Lordsburg.
