Event narrative

A trained spotter in Wallowa, OR reported a severe thunderstorm that was producing hailstones the size of tennis balls. Reports and pictures received from the public also indicated that hail had damaged the sidings of windows of homes, as well as damaging the panels and windows of uncovered vehicles. 4 injuries from the large hailstones were also relayed by the trained spotter.

Wider weather episode

A severe thunderstorm that developed in southern Union county went on to impact the towns of La Grande and Wallowa in the afternoon on the 11th. Through the life cycle of the storm, it had produced hailstones to the size of 2.5 inches, while also producing winds up to 60mph. Hailstones produced by the storm caused damage to the sidings and windows of homes as well as produced dents in uncovered cars.
