A cluster of thunderstorms intensified over Michigan's central upper peninsula late on 8/2, eventually forming a bowing segment that tracked across northern Lake Michigan during the early morning of 8/3. A wind gust of 40 mph was measured over Little Traverse Bay. A second cluster of storms formed over the lake, eventually producing small hail and a 39 mph wind gust over Grand Traverse Bay.
