Event narrative

The Fremont Island - Miller Hill weather station recorded an initial gust of 79 mph at 9:35 pm MST, with a peak gust of 80 mph subsequently recorded at 9:40 pm MST. The weather station then continued to record gusts ranging from 58 mph to 72 mph through 10:10 pm MST. The wind gusts were associated with strong thunderstorms moving through the area.

Wider weather episode

An active pattern in mid-September resulted in several reports of flash flooding in southern Utah, in addition to some isolated thunderstorm related wind gusts in northern Utah.
