Buoy 42020 of the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC) reported wind gusts above 34 knots associated with a cold front producing a broken line of showers and storms starting at 4:50AM CDT and lasting until 5:10AM CDT. The highest gust was 37 knots recorded at 4:50AM CDT.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front brought a broken line of showers and a few thunderstorms to the Lower Texas Coast on the morning of October 25th. Several of the Texas Coastal Ocean Observing Network (TCOON) sites along with Buoy42020 reported gusts over 34 knots as the line moved through.
