Event narrative

One inch of rain in less than 1 hour caused flash flooding near State Route 83 in the Lyle and Brushy Canyon areas south of Canelo. Two occupants of a pickup truck were rescued from three feet of flowing water.

Wider weather episode

Showers and thunderstorms moved west across southeast Arizona from early morning into the evening. Heavy rain produced flooding in parts of the Tucson area as well as parts of Cochise and Santa Cruz counties.
