Event narrative

Across Northern Valley County, measured snowfall amounts ranged from 2.0 to 6.0 inches. The greatest amount of 6.0 inches was measured by a trained spotter located at 7 SSE of Frenchman Reservoir. Trained spotters from Opheim and Glendive reported power outages that lasted for most of the night.

Wider weather episode

The first winter storm of the season occurred when a Pacific Storm moved in from the Pacific Northwest and redeveloped on the east side of the Continental Divide. Many areas saw accumulating snow with areas along the Canadian Border receiving the highest amounts.
