Drought conditions improved below severe criteria during September, mainly due to rains brought by Hurricane Fiona. However, the island remained under Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions for the rest of the month.

The drought classification significantly improved across the U.S. Virgin Islands, mainly due to rains brought by Hurricane Fiona. Drought conditions were completely erased along St. John and St. Thomas, while abnormally dry conditions still linger over St. Croix.
