Up to a foot of snow was observed above 6000 feet, impacting backcountry users. Highway 93 was also slick and snow covered at Lost Trail Pass multiple times.

Wider weather episode

An upper trough and surface low pressure area interacted with abundant moisture to bring significant mountain snowfall generally above 5000 feet. Backcountry recreation was the primary impact with hunting season ongoing.
