Snow amounts of 5-10 inches were observed above 5000 feet, impacting backcountry users. Highway 12 was also slick and snow covered at Lolo Pass multiple times.

An upper trough and surface low pressure area interacted with abundant moisture to bring significant mountain snowfall generally above 5000 feet. Backcountry recreation was the primary impact with hunting season ongoing.
