Event narrative

Officials from Capitol Reef National Park reported 1 to 2 feet of water flowing through a wash that feeds into the Grand Wash, as well as 1 to 2 feet of water flowing through Grand Wash itself.

Wider weather episode

A late September moisture surge yielded isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms from roughly September 28 through the 30, some of which resulted in strong wind gusts. Some isolated flash flooding was noted in some southern Utah locations as well.
