Interstate 5 in south central Siskiyou county was closed for approximately 5 hours beginning at 07/2040 PST. This was due to snow on the roadway causing trucks to jackknife and block the road. Interstate 5 was closed again at 08/0840 PST for at least several hours. In addition, a spotter 2 SSW Weed reported 10.0 inches of heavy wet snow overnight at 08/0751 PST.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm brought snow to Siskiyou county in northern California. While amounts were not excessive, it was the first major storm of the year and it caused closure on Interstate 5.
