Event narrative

A period of moderate snow led to slick roads, leading to a tractor trailer sliding off of I-80 at MM 187 in Clinton County and careening down a 40-foot embankment. There were no reports of injuries.

Wider weather episode

A weak area of low pressure pushed up the Ohio Valley during the afternoon and evening of November 15, 2022. This system pushed wet snow into central Pennsylvania, with light rain in the Lower Susquehanna Valley. A quick 3 to 5 inches of snow accumulated from the Laurel Highlands northeastward across the Ridge and Valley region. Although it was only an Advisory-level event, it was the first accumulating snowfall of the year and there were numerous traffic accidents and road closures.
