Event narrative

Intermittent wind speeds of 40 mph were common in Eastern Roosevelt County from the mid afternoon to the early night time hours.

Wider weather episode

A strong Alberta Clipper system developed over southern Alberta and sped to the east over Saskatchewan. A strong pressure gradient was generated by the low as it strengthened, causing strong and gusty winds over northeast Montana with numerous gusts over 60 mph.
