A wind gust of 37 knots was recorded at a WeatherFlow Tempest station at a shipwreck museum in Old Town Key West.

Wider weather episode

A middle to upper level shortwave trough over the southern Gulf of Mexico moved northeast, enhancing the development of numerous showers and thunderstorms over western Cuba, the western Straits of Florida, and the southeast Gulf of Mexico. Scattered gale-force wind gusts occurred in association with the thunderstorms as they passed over portions of the Lower Florida Keys.
