A combination of surface high pressure centered over the Northeast United States and Tropical Cyclone Ian lifting northwest through eastern South Carolina, resulted in very strong east or northeast winds which caused minor to moderate (tidal) coastal flooding over portions of York county. Yorktown reached 5.11 feet MLLW at 1118 pm on Friday, September 30.
