Mesonet site at Nauyaug Point Road in Mystic CT measured a 38 knot wind gust.

A mid-level shortwave trough approached aloft and severe thunderstorms were produced in the warm sector over the waters along a pre-frontal trough ahead of a cold frontal passage. These storms produced damaging wind gusts.
