This event began in August. Excessive Heat Warning criteria were reached on each of the first four days of September, and the event continued beyond.

Wider weather episode

This is the second of three entries documenting the long-duration excessive heat episode which lasted from August 30th through September 8th. There were 11 heat-related deaths in Las Vegas during the episode; one is documented in the August 30-31 entry, eight are documented in this entry, and two are documented in the September 5-8 entry.
