The southern half of the zone remained in Severe(D2) drought with Moderate(D1) drought north.

Wider weather episode

Another month of above normal precipitation brought almost all of southern New Mexico out of Severe(D2) drought or worse. By the end of October, only a a small area around the New Mexico Bootheel remained in Severe drought.
