Event narrative

Heavy rain fell across much of Luna county with the highest amount being 3.04 inches 8.6 miles southeast of Deming. Other reports included 2.89 inches 15.5 miles west-southwest of Deming and 2.21 inches 16 miles east-southeast of Deming.

Wider weather episode

A deep east to southeast flow brought ample Gulf of Mexico moisture into the region which combined with a slow moving upper low moving through Arizona. Heavy rain fell across much of Luna, Grant and western Sierra counties with rainfall totals up to about four and a half inches.
