Winter storm conditions developed across the mountains of Ventura county. Heavy snowfall was reported at and above the 6000 foot level with snowfall totals in the 6-12 inch range. Along with the snow, very strong and gusty southwest winds were reported. Peak gusts between 60 and 70 MPH were reported.
Wider weather episode
An early season winter storm brought strong winds and mountain snow to the area. Peak wind gusts in the mountains of Los Angeles county reached 97 MPH while gusts up to 80 MPH were reported across the Antelope Valley. In the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles counties, winter storm conditions were observed with the strong winds and snowfall accumulations up to around 12 inches above 7000 feet.
