Event narrative

SNOTEL stations reported between 2 and 4 inches of snow water equivalent which was mostly in the form of 1 to 2 feet of snow in the mountains. Pierce reported 6.2 inches of snow. Strong gusty winds near 40 mph occurred during and after the heavy snowfall.

Wider weather episode

The north-central Idaho mountains received 10 to 20 inches of snowfall from an atmospheric river. Heavy wet snow and strong winds observed in the lower elevations caused power outages.
