The La Grande/Union County Airport ASOS recorded temperatures at or below freezing between 0610 PDT and 0810 PDT. The CWOP station CW9803 recorded temperatures at or below freezing between 0610 PDT and 0820 PDT.

Wider weather episode

Clear skies, calm surface winds, and subsidence aloft allowed for effective nighttime cooling to take place across the Grande Ronde Valley in northeast Oregon. This resulted in temperatures lowering to or just below freezing for a couple of hours across the valley early in the morning on the 16th.
