Event narrative
Heavy rainfall caused rapid rises on the Lowe River and surrounding the Solomon Gulch Lake near Valdez, AK. Widespread lowland flooding was reported by the Floodplain Manager as waters rose rapidly during the event, rising as fast as 3 feet in under 12 hours and cresting at 15.02 ft. In doing so, the Lowe River reached moderate flood stage. The Floodplain Manager reported the Lowe River being very high but not on the road. Many low areas near the river were flooded.

Heavy rainfall across Prince William Sound caused rapid changes in river conditions, along with widespread minor to moderate and low-land flooding, near Cordova and Valdez.
