Event narrative

A broken band of snow showers produced a quick inch of snow across portions of Centre County during the early morning hours of December 17, 2022. This short-lived snowfall produced slick conditions on area roads, and PA Route 350 was closed in both directions in Rush Township for a couple of hours due to icy conditions and several disabled vehicles.

Wider weather episode

A weak disturbance generated a broken band of snow showers that crossed central Pennsylvania during the early morning hours of December 17, 2022. These snow showers produced brief periods of moderate snowfall, although generally an inch or less of accumulation was observed. However, this was enough to slicken roads in some spots.
