A grass and brush fire progressed northwest of McCracken.

A strong low level jet from the southwest across the CWA prevailed ahead of cold front that tightened the pressure gradient significantly 9-10 mb from north to south. Wind gusts up to 60 to 70 mph were reported with a number of wildfires that sparked during the afternoon hours. Relative humidity values were down to 15-20 percent giving way to high wind and red flag warnings for the entire viewing area.
