Mesonet station at Bayou Bienvenue (vertical lift gate) gusted to 34 knots or 39 mph.

Wider weather episode

A cold extending from Canada across the US to Mexico raced east across the country in the early morning hours of November 30th. Thunderstorms developed along the cold front in a region of increased instability and a couple of them were able to produce severe marine wind gusts over Lakes Pontchartrain and Borne.
